This NVQ is ideal for those working in the area of occupational health and safety. The qualification aims to provide recognition for practitioners who meet the national standards in their work. Key occupational areas include: Environmental Health Practitioner, Health and Safety Practitioner.

The level 4 in Occupational Health and Safety has been withdrawn. At the end of every qualfication expiry, the qualification is reviewed. In this particualr case, most of the levels were either level 3 or level 5. It made sense to dispense with the level 4 and launch a new level 5 qualfication.

Qualification Aim: The aim of this qualification is to recognise the skills and competencies of learners in the workplace. The qualification is about the development and implementation of good practice in health and safety matters in the workplace. Learners will have a great deal of authority, influence and autonomy and will be required to make decisions within agreed limits and boundaries.
